The Coasters from Pinterest...

Hello Everyone!

This is my first run at this blogging thing. I decided that I need to keep track of the projects that I do both originally, as well as things I find on Pinterest. I am learning my way around different sites to try and make sure I nab the Original Poster's (OP) link. Should I ever err' in this cause, please just let me know and I will be sure to make the proper adjustments.

             Without further ado...

I found this posting on Pinterest just in the nick-of-time, as I had just put glass top tables in our living room and things were getting a bit redundant with wiping them down each time a cup was placed on them. :-\

The one thing that I did a little differently was I hand painted a few of my tiles to mimic
some of the patterns on the scrapbook paper. I just used the .50 acrylic paint from Wal*Mart(™) and sealed it with the same stuff I used to seal the other coasters. Anyway, here are the results...

Thank you so much for reading!

11/23/15 Update:

These are still alive and well and actively used in my home! Granted some of the hand painted ones have  had some run-ins with chipping agents but nothing too crazy. I think I might seal them a little better next time (maybe it would help with the paint peeling?), but I'm just always so impatient...

This just in...

I see now that I am starting to get web traffic from what I assume is my Instagram page. That being said I have a renewed interest in updating this blog; I won't lie it is difficult to muster up the desire to pour energy into something that only you look at. I will also have a little free-time after Friday now that I am in the position of having to find a job (don't you just love corporate America?). I make A LOT of "stuff" you can view some of that stuff on my Instagram page which can be viewed here . I will do my best to update this page more often and post my results from my crafty endeavors  that I pursue from the likes of Pinterest, Ravelry, and the Internets as a whole. Like this Gir from Invader Zim that I made from a pattern I found on Ravelry from Nichole's Nerdy Knots . This girl comes up with some really fun stuff and I can't wait to check out more of her awesome free patterns. That's it for today have an AWESOME one!

Fascinated by Fascinators....

So a while ago (April 2015) my cousin Pam came to me and asked me to make her "hair piece" for her wedding. I readily responded with a big-fat-"YES"! But then soon had regrets because I am really not a "hair things" person. I NEVER wear them and I certainly haven't ever had a reason to make one before, but I'm a crafter who likes a challenge. So I talked myself through the following 6 mos. of anxiety attacks. I studied, and pinned, and studied, and pinned. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't thinking of ways to "get out of it", I even thought of just buying one online and admitting that I was clueless. But I pressed on... For about 5 months I bought every chiffon pink, ivory, and navy (her wedding colors) craft item that I happened upon at the craft store, all kinds of stuff . Feathers, old costume jewelry, vintage lace, rhinestones, etc...  all the while not knowing exactly what I was going to make, not knowing what of the c...
