The Coasters from Pinterest...

Hello Everyone!

This is my first run at this blogging thing. I decided that I need to keep track of the projects that I do both originally, as well as things I find on Pinterest. I am learning my way around different sites to try and make sure I nab the Original Poster's (OP) link. Should I ever err' in this cause, please just let me know and I will be sure to make the proper adjustments.

             Without further ado...

I found this posting on Pinterest just in the nick-of-time, as I had just put glass top tables in our living room and things were getting a bit redundant with wiping them down each time a cup was placed on them. :-\

The one thing that I did a little differently was I hand painted a few of my tiles to mimic
some of the patterns on the scrapbook paper. I just used the .50 acrylic paint from Wal*Mart(™) and sealed it with the same stuff I used to seal the other coasters. Anyway, here are the results...

Thank you so much for reading!

11/23/15 Update:

These are still alive and well and actively used in my home! Granted some of the hand painted ones have  had some run-ins with chipping agents but nothing too crazy. I think I might seal them a little better next time (maybe it would help with the paint peeling?), but I'm just always so impatient...

This just in...

I see now that I am starting to get web traffic from what I assume is my Instagram page. That being said I have a renewed interest in updating this blog; I won't lie it is difficult to muster up the desire to pour energy into something that only you look at. I will also have a little free-time after Friday now that I am in the position of having to find a job (don't you just love corporate America?). I make A LOT of "stuff" you can view some of that stuff on my Instagram page which can be viewed here . I will do my best to update this page more often and post my results from my crafty endeavors  that I pursue from the likes of Pinterest, Ravelry, and the Internets as a whole. Like this Gir from Invader Zim that I made from a pattern I found on Ravelry from Nichole's Nerdy Knots . This girl comes up with some really fun stuff and I can't wait to check out more of her awesome free patterns. That's it for today have an AWESOME one!

When life hands you .5mm (10lb) hemp, make...

So, I was a bit confused the other day when I opened my much awaited package of hemp that I ordered from Simple-pleasures-4-u . I love ordering my hemp from there because I always get my package super fast and they have awesome prices and selections as well, :) not to mention the lady who owns the shop is SUPER nice and hand-writes notes (who doesn't love that!?). Anyway, I was confused because my hemp "looked" different from my previous orders of hemp, but it wasn't until I got them side-by-side that I realized where I had fumbled. Even with all my years on Ebay I still mess up from time to time, but this was going to be interesting; finding a use for all this very thin .5mm (10lb) hemp. Little did I know fate would step in the next day when a friend sent me a picture of a para cord bracelet and asked if I could make him one out of hemp? Me: "YES! :)xInfinity" (I love when friends and family ask me to make stuff, like my cousin Pam who has a wedding in Oc...
